Homemade Cranberry Sauce

This supper quick and easy cranberry sauce is delicious. You will not be disappointed. Great recipe to make in advance.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag fresh cranberries
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole allspice berries
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 5 cloves
  • 1 zest of an orange
  • juice from 1 orange
** NOTE: Use a tied cheesecloth bag to place the cloves and allspice berries. Otherwise when you remove them it will be a bit hard to find. (As you can see I forgot to do so :)

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a pot and bring to a light boil. Reduce heat and simmer on low for 7-10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Some berries will burst, some will not. If it looks to watery, don't worry, it will thicken as it sits.  Once done remove whole allspice, cloves and cinnamon sticks.  Let it cool before serving.
