Chocolate Drizzle Cinnamon Kettle Popcorn

Okay, the first time I ate kettle corn, I thought I was going to choke it all up. It was just down right nasty to me. That was until my sister-in-law made some homemade kettle corn for Christmas.  With me kicking and screaming (on the inside, I couldn't let her see I was a big baby)  I gave it a try to make her happy. And you know what, I have to say it was really good. Store bought kettle corn is no way as good as homemade. Everything homemade taste so much better. I hope you enjoy this recipe with your love ones. Make a big bowl of it now and sit back and relax with a good movie =)

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup oil (vegetable oil is fine, I used coconut oil)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup semi sweet or milk chocolate chips

Directions:

  • In a large pot with the lid, heat the oil and kernels only until it begins to sizzle.
  • Once it begins to sizzle add your sugar and cinnamon. Place lid back on and shake pot to mix everything together.
  • Make sure to you shake once or twice until you hear the kernels begin to pop.
  • Use oven mitts, the pot at this point will start to get hot.
  • Once it begins to pop continuously, you will have to shake the pot hard ,side to side until popping slows.
  • When it slows, remove from heat.
  • Remove lid, put popcorn on a cookie sheet and sprinkle extra cinnamon on top if you desire.
  • In a small microwaveable bowl, melt 1/4 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips for about 2 minutes with power level on 50%.
  • Once the chocolate is melted you can take a fork and drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn.
