Oh, So Good Blondie Bars

These Blondie bars are soooo gooood!!! I have always been a sucker for chocolate chip cookies but this has become my go to comfort dessert. This is a really easy recipe to make and only a few ingredients that most of us have on hand. They come out crispy on the outside and warm & chewy on the inside. With tons of chocolate chips and walnuts, just the way I like it. 



Ingredients:

  •  2 sticks of  butter softened, plus more for pan
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg
  • 2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour, (spooned and leveled)
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cup chocolate chips (1 cup milk chocolate & 1 cup semisweet)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

   Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush an 9x13 baking pan with butter.  
In a large bowl or stand mixer, whisk butter and sugars until smooth. Whisk in egg and vanilla. Add flour and salt. Mix until nicely blended. Fold in cup each chocolate chips and walnuts. Transfer batter to prepared pan.

Bake until top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 30 to 45 minutes (will vary with oven). Check bars after 30 minutes and if need to continue to bake, check every 5 minutes until done. Once cool, cut and enjoy. Will make about 24-32 bars.
